S85 Photometer

The Weston Model S85 Photometer light meter was was not designed for photographic use although royal photographer Patrick Lichfield is rumoured to have used one of these. It read the amount of light falling directly onto the cell - rather like an incident light meter, displaying the result in Foot Candles, and was designed primarily for testing light intensity in workplaces etc. It came with a leather case and instructions, and was made by Sangamo Weston Ltd Enfield England as well as by Weston in Newark NJ.
